The Community Fundraising project is an effort to initiate philanthropy in the entertainment community and beyond. Why did we do this? Because the night life industry gains such a huge amount of money, while struggling non profit organizations are cutting back to make ends meet and continue to provide much needed services to the community. I have worked in non profits for over 15 years. In this span of time I have seen some successes and some failures as it relates to the disbursment of funds. I watch as many organizations are laying people off, cutting entire departments, and decreasing their reach in the community as a result. The only way to change this issue is for those that understand how important rehabilitation, emergency service, and basic needs programs to get involved in creative fundraising. So we have initiated the Community Fundraising Project. This year we have struggled a bit to get the word out about this project. But the most recent success of the Community Fundraising Project Fashion Show displays a way we can make a difference while enjoying the night life we are accustomed to.

The Community Fundraising Project Fashion Show was heald at Moct Milwaukee (www.themoct.com) at 240 E. Pittsburgh Ave. on November 25, 2009. This event was part of a resource drive entitled the "Help A Sista Out Campaign". This campaign was a drive from November 11-27, 2009 designed to support the needs of the Milwaukee Women's Center, a division of Community Advocates. This event was a great success, we were able to generate donations as well as warm clothes and outer wear for families affected by domestic violence and crime. We gathered more than 10 boxes of supplies for the familes at the centers and over 500 in cash donations. This is an impressive feature of the Community Fundraising Project!!!!

We have been developing the Community Fundraising Project through consultations with prominant fundraisers here in the community. As a result we have been able to provide successful events that generate funds for the causes that the audience is passionate about. If you are interested in coordinating a cause with the Community Fundraising Project please contact us!!!! Our focus is to help the community to support those that are disenfranchised and would otherwise be lost. Please support us in achieving this goal!!!
